Cinco Bayou State of Emergency

08/29/2026 UPDATE ON THE CINCO BAYOU WATER QUALITY: Tests completed by the Natural Resources Department of Okaloosa County on Thursday, August 20, 2026, indicate that the water quality at Cinco Bayou does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health. DOH-Okaloosa advises against any water-related activities at this location due to an increased risk of illness in swimmers. Sampling conducted showed that the level of bacteria exceeds the level established by state guidelines. This advisory will continue until bacteria levels are below the accepted health level

NOTICE: The Town of Cinco Bayou has declared a State of Emergency on April 9,2020 for the town limits. EXTENSION NO. 1 – COVID-19 DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY TOWN OF CINCO BAYOU, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, on March 1, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order No. 20-51 directing the Florida Department of Health to issue a Public Health Emergency, which direction was followed by the appropriate agencies; and WHEREAS, on March 9, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order No. 20-52 declaring a State of Emergency for every county in Florida for COVID-19; and WHEREAS, on April 9, 2020, the Town Council for the Town of Cinco Bayou, Florida (the “Town”) adopted Resolution 2020-01 declaring a State of Emergency (the “COVID-19 Declaration”) in response to COVID-19; and WHEREAS, the conditions continue to exist requiring the extension of the COVID-19 Declaration; and NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the recitals above, all of which are incorporated herein below by reference, the Mayor hereby extends
