The Okaloosa Health Department has issued a new water quality advisory for Cinco Bayou. Tests completed by the Okaloosa County Natural Resources Department on Thursday, Sep. 17, indicate the water quality at Cinco Bayou does not meet the state’s recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria.

A public hearing will be held by the Town Council of the Town of Cinco Bayou to consider the 1st
reading and adoption of Ordinance No. 261 on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 6:15 p.m. Central
Time, or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the Town Hall located at 10 NE Yacht Club
Drive, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The meeting will be open to the press and public.

The proposed ordinance may be inspected at the Town Hall during business hours. The Town
Hall is located at 10 N.E. Yacht Club Drive, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Interested parties may
appear at the hearing and be heard regarding the proposed ordinance.

If any person decides to appeal any decision made by the Town Council with respect to the matter
considered at this hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purpose,
he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record
includes testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, pursuant to section
286.0105, Florida Statutes.

In accordance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), persons requiring special
accommodations to participate in this meeting because of a disability or physical impairment
